When using a Dryer or Washer, large appliances draw a heavy wattage of electrical current; through wired circuits. Therefore, always turn the power off upon calling service for cleaning a dryer vent; before working on an electrical device. For example, a dryer will use 5,000 watts of electrical power; while this number is equal to the same wattage used by a Range/Oven or Water Heater, to cook food for warmth.
Thus, given the high wattage used by appliances; a separate power circuit needs to be used; given the heavy amount of current used by a large appliance.
